Who these terms are with

These terms are offered by Trails of Lanka, a private tour planning service operating in Sri Lanka.

This website provides information about private tours in Sri Lanka and a form for requesting a quote. Using the website does not create a booking or any obligation on either side.

What we provide

We plan and operate private, customisable tours: a private vehicle, a driver-guide, accommodation booked on your behalf, and a route agreed with you in advance. We are the operator of the tours we quote for, and we arrange third-party services such as hotels, park entry and activities as part of that.

Prices shown on this website are indicative "from" figures per person. They are a starting point for a quote, not an offer of a fixed price. The price that applies to you is the one written in your quote.

Quotes and how a booking is formed

You send an enquiry through the website or by WhatsApp or email. A person reads it and replies with a proposed route and a price. Nothing is charged at that point, and you are not committed to anything.

A booking exists only once you have accepted a written quote and we have confirmed that acceptance. Until both of those have happened, no contract exists and either side can walk away without cost.

A quote is valid for the period stated on it. Availability and price can change before you accept, particularly in peak season, because hotels and vehicles are held only once a booking is confirmed.

Accuracy of information

We take care that routes, durations and descriptions on this website are accurate, but they describe typical trips rather than a fixed product. Road conditions, weather, park access and opening times change, and a driver-guide may adjust a day where that is the sensible thing to do.

Information about visas, entry requirements and health is provided as general guidance and can change without notice. It is your responsibility to confirm the requirements for your own nationality with the relevant authority before you travel.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for holding a valid passport and any visa or entry authorisation required for your nationality, for arranging your own travel insurance, and for telling us before travel about anything that affects how a trip should be planned — mobility needs, medical conditions, dietary requirements or the ages of children travelling.

Where you give us information that turns out to be inaccurate and that changes what a trip costs or whether it can run as planned, we will tell you as soon as we know and agree the options with you.

Payments

No payment is taken through this website. There is no checkout, and we never ask for card details on these pages.

Payment terms — what is due, when, and by what method — are set out in your written quote and confirmed before a booking is treated as made. If anything in those terms is unclear, ask before you accept.

Liability

We are responsible for arranging the services described in your confirmed quote with reasonable skill and care. We are not responsible for events outside our reasonable control, including weather, natural events, strikes, civil disruption, changes to park or site access, flight delays and cancellations, or the acts of third parties not engaged by us.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

If something goes wrong

Tell us while you are still travelling if you can. Most problems — a hotel that is not as expected, a route that is not working — are far easier to fix in the moment than afterwards. Your driver-guide can reach us, and you can message us directly on WhatsApp at +94 71 720 4962.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one in force on the date your quote was accepted, and we will send it with your quote if you ask.
